Marine Repair Services-Container Maintenance Corp to open new depot in Port Houston

Gulf Coast growth propels expansion of distribution, maintenance, repair and storage capacity solutions

Marino Group Marine Repair Services – Container Maintenance Corporation (MRS-CMC), a leading provider of intermodal services, announces the opening of a new depot in Port Houston. Opened today, the new facility will support the fluidity of the global supply chain with an expansion of its storage, distribution, repair and capacity services in the region.

Directly across from Port Houston’s Bayport Terminal and only minutes from the Barbours Cut Terminal, the new facility will complement the company’s already established maintenance and repair services in Port Houston, providing customers with more service choices, including loaded container storage, empty container storage and repairs, start/stop and frame repairs, refrigerated pre-moves on the ground and generator rental program.

Port Houston is the largest container port on the Gulf Coast, handling 70% of Gulf Coast container traffic. In fact, Port Houston recently announced that by mid-July 2022 it had handled just under two million TEUs, an 18% increase from 2021.

For more than eight years, MRS-CMC has operated out of two Port Houston terminals, providing maintenance and repair (M&R) services for chassis, containers, reefer containers and generator sets. The new Houston depot will significantly expand its service offerings while delivering significant benefits that address the day-to-day issues of a wide range of supply chain players. The expanded list of services includes: pre-extraction program service for warehouses and distribution centers, equipment storage capabilities, and efficient grounded generator and refrigerant operations.
